Report: Third Title Fight Added To Cage Warriors 113
Losing opponents has turned out to be fruitful for both Mason Jones and Joe McColgan, who both lost their opponents due to injury at Cage Warriors 113, as both will now face each other for the vacant Cage Warriors Lightweight Title.
MMA Junkie first reported the news, but the bout will not serve as the main event of the show.
Jones (8-0-0) has spent the majority of his professional MMA career competing in Cage Warriors, earning a 7-0-0 record in the promotion. Jones’ lone fight outside of the promotion came at an Adrenalin Fight Night show in December of 2017, where he defeated Brett Hassett by first round submission. Jones has competed a total of eight times as a professional MMA fighter and three of those bouts went the distance.
McColgan (6-2-1) has won three of six under the Cage Warriors banner, with those wins coming over Richard Williams, Sean Carter and Robbie Scott. McColgan hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Jai Herbert at Cage Warriors 100. McColgan has picked up six wins as a professional MMA fighter and four of them came by way of submission.
Cage Warriors 113 takes place on Friday, March 20 from the Indigo At The 02 in London, England with Darko Banovic and Morgan Charriere headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
