Report: Ciryl Gane Injured, Off UFC 249
Next months UFC 249 card has taken a hit as Ciryl Gane has suffered an injury and has been pulled from a bout against Shamil Abdurakhimov at UFC 249. Abdurakhimov is expected to remain on the UFC 249 card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for him to fight.
Gane posted the following on Twitter about the situation:
Unfortunately I will not be able to compete in New York for UFC 249. I was struck by another pneumothorax during training. Impossible for me to be at 100% by April 18. Don’t worry, everything is fine! I will take this time off to recover and return at my best! —-@mmafactory_fr pic.twitter.com/kIpoLZtZoS

Abdurakhimov is winless thus far when competing on UFC pay-per-view events, having dropped a bout to Curtis Blaydes at UFC 242. Abdurakhimov has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC 249 takes place on Saturday, April 18 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
