That event appears to be the last time that Liddell will compete, as the former UFC champion is retired…for now.
“I’m officially retired right now … for now,” Liddell said to TMZ Sports.
Liddell retires with a professional MMA record of 21-9-0, but the fighter also retires having lost four straight and he hasn’t won a bout in over a decade.
As far as what’s next for Liddell, some appearances in the WWE seems to be what the retired fighter wants.
“Of course, yeah, I’d still do WWE, I’d still do pro wrestling,” Liddell said (via Adam Martin of BJPenn.com). “That’d be a lot of fun. I’d like that. I don’t think The Rock’s still in it there. He’s always fun to do something with. I’m impressed by the stuff those guys do. They do some crazy stuff.”
A lot of MMA fighters have transitioned to professional wrestling over the years, with some of the notables being Ken Shamrock, Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, Dan Severn and more.
