Bellator MMA Signs Ross Houston
Former Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion Ross Houston has found a new fighting home as the competitor has signed with Bellator MMA.
The signing was announced by Dave Green, who is the Head Of Bellator Europe, and that deal was revealed earlier today during a media event (via MMA Fighting). While the signing was announced, such specifics as the length of the contract or any financial numbers associated with it weren’t made public.
Houston (8-0-0-1NC) became the Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion after defeating Stefano Paterno by split decision at Cage Warriors 98 in October of 2018. Houston would go onto defend the gold once before relinquishing it, which was a no contest against UFC fighter Nicolas Dalby at Cage Warriors 106 in June of last year. Houston has competed a total of nine times as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of those encounters went the distance. While Houston’s promotional debut isn’t known at this time, it would mark the first time he has competed outside of Cage Warriors in over three years.
There is no word at this time as to when Houston is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut or whom that bout is going to be against.
