Report: Vanessa Melo Replaces Duda Santana At UFC Fight Night Oklahoma City

Duda Santana has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Oklahoma City for undisclosed reasons, replacing her against Sarah Alpar is Vanessa Melo.

Combate first reported the news, but the bouts spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Alpar (9-4-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Alpar held three regional championships before coming to the UFC, as she is a former King Of The Cage, Legacy Fighting Alliance and Xtreme Fight Night Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Melo (10-7-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped bouts to the duo of Tracy Cortez and Irene Aldana. Melo has seen her last nine fights go the distance and it has been over four years since the fighter got a finish. Melo has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of decision.

UFC Fight Night Oklahoma takes place on Saturday, May 2 from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
