Joanna Jedrzejczyk Claims Karolina Kowalkiewiecz Is ‘Fake’
While there are still five weeks before UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends her championship against Karolina Kowalkiewiecz at UFC 205, that hasn't stopped the champion from trashing the challenger.
MMA Fighting recently spoke with the champion and the champion was quick to offer up her first impressions of her upcoming opponent.
“She was super-nice, super-cute, she came to me with her coach, they hugged me, they were talking to me. But…she isn’t a great person. That’s her problem. She’s a fake person,” said Jedrzejczyk.
Joanna also took the time to elaborate on the exact moment when her opinion of Kowalkiewiecz changed.
“For my fight with Gadelha, we had to record some media for our sponsor and we had a photo shoot together. She was super-nice, we were talking a lot. But after her fight with Rose she said some bad things. That’s the reason,” said Joanna 'Champion.'
The strawweight champion also discussed whether or not Karolina's talent level, which Joanna doesn't believe is near hers.
“She’s not, but she’s a tough chick. So it’s going to be a really tough and interesting fight, but she’s not on my level. She deserved to fight for this title. She beat Rose, and Rose was supposed to be my next opponent. But Karolina won and she’s the challenger,” said Joanna.
UFC 205 takes place November 12 from New York City's Madison Square Garden.
