Isabella De Padua Replaces Veronica Macedo At UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo
Fans who checked out yesterday’s UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo weigh-ins may have noticed that Veronica Macedo didn’t weigh-in and Isabella De Padua did.
That’s because De Padua has replaced Macedo in the bout against Ariane Lipski after Macedo was forced to withdrawal from the card due to severe headaches according to La Sueur.
Lipski (11-5-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, dropping bouts to the duo of Joanne Calderwood and Molly McCann. Lipski is a former KSW MMA Women’s Flyweight Champion, defeating Silvana Gomez Juarez at KSW 42 to claim the gold. Lipski hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that win at KSW 42 coming in March of 2018.
De Padua (5-1-0) is making her UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. De Padua is competing for the fourth time in 2019, making it her most active year as a professional MMA fighter. De Padua has competed a total of six times as a professional MMA fighter and two of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo takes place on Saturday, November 16 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Jan Blachowicz and Ronaldo Souza headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
