Report: Yoshinori Horie Cut By The UFC

It appears to be a one and done for Yoshinori Horie in the UFC because the fighter has reportedly been let go by the promotion.

Bruno Massami of MMA Plus (citing Horie’s social media account) revealed the news, although a reason as to why the fighter was cut hasn’t been revealed at this time.

Horie (8-2-0, 0-1-0 Overall) made his lone appearance in the promotion at UFC 240, suffering a third round TKO loss to Hakeem Dawodu. Horie had a lot of success outside of the UFC while competing in Pancrase, where he picked up five of eight wins by way of KO/TKO. Horie’s only other professional MMA defeat came to fellow UFC veteran Issei Tamura, with that loss coming by second round TKO at Pancrase 294 in March of 2018. Horie also went undefeated as an amateur MMA fighter, defeating Yasutaka Kato by majority decision at Yokohama Cage Fight 1 in June of 2016.

There has been no comment from the UFC as to Horie’s state with the promotion, but it would appear that the UFC Lightweight Division is now moving on with one less fighter.
