Nate Diaz Says He’s Out Of UFC 244 Because Of USADA, Report Says He’s Not Suspended

Nate Diaz may be out of one of the biggest fights of his life.

Diaz was set to main event UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden on November 2 against Jorge Masvidal for the “BMF Title.” However, Diaz unleashed a social media post on Thursday that throws all of that into question. ESPN reported that Diaz has not been provisionally suspended by USADA.

You can see the transcript of Diaz’s post below.

“I’m not gonna make it out to NYC for fight week next week because they say I tested with elevated levels that they say might be from some tainted supplements. I call false on that cause I only take Whole Food or natural food supplements. I don’t even eat meat. So until UFC, USADA or whoever is FUCKING with me fixes it, I won’t be competing. I’m not gonna play their game and try and hit it or keep (quiet), as they suggested. I’m not going to have my name tainted as a cheater like these other motherfuckers who keep quiet until after the fight so they can get paid. Fuckin cheaters. I don’t give a fuck about some money over my dignity and my legacy. I’m not staying quiet and figuring it out after the fight. That’s cheating. So fight game, I’ll see you when I see you. Sincerely, The realest baddest mother fucker in the game.”

We’ve yet to hear from Jorge Masvidal about the story, and the UFC hasn’t commented on the situation. We’ll keep you updated as that happens.

“UFC and USADA are gathering information and will issue a statement as soon as possible,” USADA spokesperson Adam Woullard told ESPN shortly after the news broke.

ESPN also revealed that Diaz tested positive for trace amounts of a prohibited selective androgen receptor module (SARM).

Fightful will have full, live coverage of UFC 244, regardless of Diaz’s status.
