Report: Petr Yan Faces Urijah Faber At UFC 245

A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 245 as #4 Petr Yan is going to be in action against #14 Urijah Faber.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at this time.

Yan (13-1-0) has already picked up five victories under the UFC banner, last defeating Jimmie Rivera by unanimous decision at UFC 238. Yan suffered his only professional MMA loss over three years ago to Magomed Magomedov at ACB 32 in March of 2016. Yan has picked up thirteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of them have come by way of submission.

Faber (35-10-0) returned after a two-plus year layoff at UFC Fight Night Sacramento, defeating Ricky Simon by first round TKO. Faber is a former WEC Featherweight Champion, but he failed to capture the UFC Bantamweight Title in four previous attempts. Faber has suffered ten losses as a professional MMA fighter, but he has yet to be beaten by way of submission.

UFC 245 takes place on Saturday, December 14 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
