Report: Joe Schilling Faces Tony Johnson At Bellator 229

A middleweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 229 according to MMA Fighting as Joe Schilling is going to be in action against Tony Johnson.

Schilling (4-5-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Will Morris and Keith Berry. Schilling is going to be competing for the second time this year, which is the first time he has fought twice in a year since 2015. Schilling has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of submission.

Johnson also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 2, defeating Alton Cunningham by unanimous decision. Johnson hasn’t suffered a defeat in over eight years, with that last loss coming in February of 2011.

Bellator 229 takes place on Friday, October 4 from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California with Andrey Koreshkov and Lorenz Larkin headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
