Kayla Harrison Says The PFL Has A Special Place For Cyborg
Kayla Harrison competes for the Professional Fighters League and she says the promotion has a special place for Cyborg.
“Hi Cris. I heard you lost your job, but if you’re interested, the PFL has a very special place for you and it’s second,” Harrison told TMZ Sports (via Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie).
Cyborg hasn’t made a decision yet as to where she wants to fight, but Bellator MMA President Scott Coker has previously stated an offer could be coming Cyborg’s way.
Harrison also says that Cyborg getting to compete at lightweight, instead of featherweight, also makes the PFL a good fit.
“I think she would fit right in at the PFL,” Harrison said. “First of all, it’s 155 pounds, so she wouldn’t be dying to make the weight like she does at 145. And I think that there’s not really anybody else out there that’s going to (challenge her). I’m going to beat Cris Cyborg if she comes to the PFL, and I don’t think any other organization can offer her that. Plus it’s a ‘you win, you fight, you move on’ type of atmosphere, so she’s not going to have to worry about the promoters liking her or not liking her, which seems to be a big problem for her. You win, you get to continue.”
Yves Edwards has also made an attempt to get Cyborg in the PFL, using the $1 million grand prize to lure the fighter in.
