Report: Chris Weidman vs. Dominick Reyes Headlines UFC Fight Night Boston
A light heavyweight division attraction is going to be headlining UFC Fight Night Boston according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #6 (MW) Chris Weidman is in action against #4 Dominick Reyes.
Weidman (14-4-0) has won just one of his last five under the UFC banner and that lone win came against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC On Fox 25. Weidman hasn’t earned a victory in over two years, as that victory at UFC On Fox 25 came in July of 2017. Weidman is a former UFC Middleweight Champion, defeating Anderson Silva to win the gold at UFC 162.
Reyes (11-0-0) has already picked up five victories in the UFC, with notable wins coming over Volkan Oezdemir, Jared Cannonier and Ovince St. Preux. Reyes is going to bee headlining his first UFC event, despite having been with the promotion for over two years. Reyes has competed eleven times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night Boston takes place on Friday, October 18 from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with Chris Weidman and Dominick Reyes headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
