Fedor Emelianenko Is Back In The Gym
Fedor Emelianenko is arguably the greatest heavyweight fighter in MMA history and according to longtime coach Vladimir Voronov, the fighter is back in the gym.
Voronov recently spoke with TASS.ru and stated…
“Fedor has gathered in Stary Oskol with the team, It is not only for physical fitness, but also to complete a camp. He is negotiating with all international organizations about the future of his career.”
Emelianenko last competed this past June at an Eurasia Fight Night event, which aired live on UFC Fight Pass, where he scored a controversial win over UFC veteran Fabio Maldonado. There was controversy after the fight as well because it was later revealed that the Russian MMA Union, which oversaw the entire event, features Emelianenko as its president. Speaking of Maldonado, he will be competing in a few weeks at Eurasia Fight Nights this October, facing Mikhail Mokhnatkin in a light heavyweight division affair.
Rumors have been swirling for years now that Fedor is coming to the UFC, but Eurasia Fight Nights and Rizin FF are both seeking the heavyweight great to fight for them once again.
Emelianenko (36-4-0-1NC) has been undefeated since returning from a self-imposed retirement in December 2015, his other win came over Jaideep Singh at a Rizin FF event.
According to Fedor’s coach, the heavyweight legend is looking to make his return to action this December, which means that a potential fight for the heavyweight is right around three months away.
