Clay Guida Beats BJ Penn, Ryan Spann Puts Down Little Nog As Legends Fall At UFC 237

BJ Penn and Antonio Rogerio Noguiera were in a far different place than many fans fondly remember them — on the prelims at UFC 237 Saturday night.

A former two division champion, BJ Penn entered Saturday night on a monumental losing streak both personally and professionally, with only one MMA victory this decade.

Penn started out with probably his best round in years, which isn’t exactly saying a whole lot. However, Motivated BJ Penn gave way to Vintage BJ Penn, as did his cardio. Being in the cage with one Clay Guida isn’t a good recipe for when that happens. Guida poured on the pain in round three and ended up running away with the unanimous decision victory.

Antonio Rogerio Noguiera is a far different story. Though his twin brother retired years ago, “Little Nog” actually won two of his last three fights entering UFC 237 — not the same charity case that Penn was. Things actually ended much worse for him, however, as Ryan Spann flattened the legend with a Superman Punch KO in the first round.
