Exclusive: Mark Haskins Talks Process Of Signing With ROH, Wanting A UK Branch, Leaving TNA
Mark Haskins and Lifeblood are one of Ring of Honor’s hottest acts, and he has major aspirations.
Haskins came into the company full-time in 2019, and was immediately placed into the faction, becoming a top act in the process. Though this is his first full year in Ring of Honor, Haskins told Fightful in an exclusive interview that he actually was negotiating months before.
“We were in talks from around August of last year to be a part of their UK tour, and they had some slots coming up. We got in touch of a space of a few months, and figured out a deal that benefits both parties, and my contract started in January. We went into Lifeblood straight away. It’s a group of guys who want to break out and make a name for itself and bring back Ring of Honor what it was all about in the first place,” Haskins told me. “I had a couple of different offers on the table that looked exciting, but Ring Of Honor was something I’ve always wanted to do, and when the opportunity came, I jumped at it.”
This isn’t Haskins’ first exposure on a national scale. He’s worked ROH UK tours in 2017 and 2018, but spent a year on and off with TNA wrestling from 2011 to 2012. When asked what advice he’d give himself, he wasn’t exactly shy.
“Don’t be afraid to say no. You look back at experiences like that and you either win or learn. If I hadn’t been through certain things in the past, I wouldn’t be the person and performer I am today,” Haskins said.
Haskins would reiterate after his TNA run left in 2012, he was never contacted by the company to come back in. No sweat to him though, as he plans on being in ROH for quite a while. To the point to where he has some lofty goals.
“I’m hoping they start up a UK branch, so I have less distance to travel for work. That would be fantastic for me. Leave me in charge and I’ll see what I can do for everybody,” Haskins joked.
