Report: Aljamain Sterling Faces Pedro Munhoz At UFC 238

A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 238 according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN as #3 Aljamain Sterling is going to be in action against #4 Pedro Munhoz.

Sterling (17-3-0) will enter the contest on the strength of a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Brett Johns, Cody Stamann and Jimmie Rivera. Sterling has seen ten of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and the fighter won eight of those encounters. Sterling has suffered three defeats as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came in UFC competition.

Munhoz (18-3-0-1NC) will also enter the contest while in the midst of a three fight winning streak, last defeating former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt by first round knockout at UFC 235. Munhoz hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming against John Dodson at UFC 222. Munhoz has suffered a total of three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came by way of decision.

UFC 238 takes place on Saturday, June 8 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
