Aung La N Sang Says Luke Rockhold Is A Threat To Jon Jones

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold recently announced his intentions to move up a weight class to light heavyweight.

Aung La N Sang is a two division One Championship Champion and he believes that Rockhold poses a threat to UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones.

“I do think he [Rockhold] has the skillset that will be a threat for Jon Jones,” he said to The Body Lock. “He’s got a high-level grappling game and he’s got a different dimension that a lot of 205-ers don’t have.”

Rockhold has yet to compete in the weight class, while Jones has been competing at light heavyweight for his entire professional MMA career.

N Sang also believes that Rockhold is going to look much better at light heavyweight because the fighter won’t have to cut as much weight.

“205 is a better weight class for Luke. He is so much stronger at 205. He walks around naturally at 225 so he’s a big, big guy. I’m a good-sized middleweight but I’m a smaller-sized light heavyweight. Luke was cutting a little too much weight. Fight week, it was hard for him to even train. I agree with his decision to go up to 205,” says N Sang.

There is no word yet on when Rockhold is expected to return to action, having last competed in the main event of UFC 221.
