Mikey Garcia wasn’t the only person to lose out big with his defeat at the hands of Errol Spence Jr. as Dana White lost a five-figure bet.
The UFC President bet $10,000 on a Garcia win over Spence, but that ultimately resulted in a big loss of change as Garcia lost the fight by a wide margin on the scorecards. Garcia was unable to win a single round as the scorecards read 120-108, 120-108 and 120-107 as he was thoroughly beaten by the much larger Spence, who retained his IBF welterweight title.
White’s $10,000 bet on a Garcia win was when Garcia was listed as +230 underdog, meaning that if he did pull off the upset against Spence, then White would have netted a $23,000 gain.

The UFC President’s interest in Garcia wasn’t a new thing as White had tried to sign Garcia to Zuffa Boxing during a period where other promotional companies were looking to get Garcia to fight on their respective platforms, such as Matchroom Boxing on DAZN. White was unsuccessful in signing Garcia and now the four-division champion still fights under the Premier Boxing Champions umbrella.
Garcia, the current WBC lightweight champion, could return to lightweight to defend his title against mandatory challenger Luke Campbell, but his future is currently uncertain.
