Report: Matt Hughes Suing Brother Over A Tractor

Former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes was hit with a pair of restraining orders recently from his wife Audra and brother Mark.

Matt has now taken legal action against the brother and the dispute has to do with a tractor that Mark is in possession of, but Matt says is his. The retired UFC fighter filed the suit on March 5 in a Montgomery County, Illinois circuit court according to MMA Junkie and would like a judge to decide the ownership of said tractor.

The tractor has been at the center of the issues between Matt and Mark, with Matt also allegedly assaulting his nephew, which Mark alleges happened when Matt saw Mark’s son riding the tractor in question.

“(Matt) pulled his vehicle cross ways in the road causing my son to have to bring the tractor quickly to a stop. Matt approached the tractor and when my son got out of the tractor to ask his uncle what he needed, Matt physically assaulted my 15-year-old son by grabbing him and shaking him, all the while telling him that it’s his (expletive) tractor,” Mark stated in the restraining order filed against Matt.

Mark has also accused Matt of dowsing the tractor in gasoline, but doesn’t say what Matt’s full plan may have been involving the tractor.

“While I am not sure if my brother’s intent was to burn the tractor, merely running a diesel engine with gasoline in the tank will destroy the engine,” Mark wrote. “I called my wife Emily and asked her to keep my brother at our house until I got there. When I got home, I met my brother in my driveway. While he denied everything, he had two empty five-gallon buckets in the back of his truck. The buckets smelled of gasoline. One of the buckets had the lid missing, and I later found the lid laying next to the tractor.”

MMA Junkie is also reporting that Matt is divorcing his wife Audra, who has previously accused the UFC star of domestic violence.
