Jon Jones Not Concerned With Recent Adverse Drug Test Findings
Recent drug test results revealed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) found adverse findings in two of the five tests, but Jones doesn’t seem too concerned about it.
“Every time, it’s like an, ‘Oh, darn it’ moment,” Jones told reporters at the UFC 235 open workouts (via MMA Junkie). “But I’m comfortable with the idea that this is going to be part of my career, and I don’t know how long this is going to last.”
Jones has failed a series of drug tests in the past, with some of the more notable infractions being before UFC 200 and in-line with UFC 214.
The light heavyweight champion says he sleeps good at night knowing all the testing that has been done.
“What makes me sleep good at night is knowing that I’ve submitted myself to every drug test,” he said. “I’m getting tested by three of the most powerful agencies in the world. I’ve never avoided a test, and I just feel the more I’m accessible, the more data they’ll have in this situation, and the more everybody will understand.”
UFC 235 takes place on Saturday, March 2 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
