MVP Knows A Second Fight With Paul Daley Will Happen

Michael “Venom” Page headlined Bellator 216, defeating Paul Daley by unanimous decision to advance in the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix.

Even though MVP was victorious on that night, one thing he knows is that a second fight with Daley will eventually come to fruition.

“It’s out of the way, but in all honesty, it’s not done,” Page told MMA Junkie. “I’m somewhat happy, obviously getting a win. But the way it finished, I’m not happy with. And it might mean actually bringing this fight to the U.K. in the future.”

The bout itself was a lackluster affair at best, with Daley going for takedowns being the main highlight of the battle.

MVP would be the first to admit that his performance on that night wasn’t the greatest.

“I’m not happy with my performance,” he said. “I’m proud of myself because it wasn’t a physical battle in there – it was a mental battle. It’s been very difficult since Christmas, and just being able to even train for this fight and just being here and getting in the cage has been extremely difficult. So I’m proud of myself for doing it, but still not happy with the performance. I made a lot of mistakes myself. But at the same time, I told you guys he was a bitch. He talked all this stuff about being able to knock me out and he ran the whole first round. And then all he wanted to do was play ground work – play wrestling.”

There has been no comment from either Daley or Bellator MMA officials as to whether or not a second fight will take place.
