Exclusive Details On Shane Helms Heading To WWE

Another Fightful Alumni looks to be heading to WWE.

Wrestling Inc’s Justin Labar reported today that Shane Helms, also known as The Hurricane, is headed back to WWE in the role of a backstage producer in WWE.

Fightful.com was able to learn that Helms was in Phoenix, Arizona ironing out the details on a new deal with WWE, but that the original offer when discussions started was as a full-time NXT coach at the WWE Performance Center. Helms made two trips to the Performance Center to help coach in 2018, with the second trip being even longer.

Fightful was told that much like with Abyss and Sonjay Dutt being brought in, the role as of now is not completely defined. Helms had fielded some other offers along the way, but looks to be joining as a producer.

Helms returned to WWE last year at the Royal Rumble after eight years away, and would go on to the aforementioned coaching roles, as well as appearing on several different WWE Network Specials. In a big year for Helms, he had an extended run with Ring of Honor where he would feud with Marty Scurll, and made an appearance on the All In Show.
