Henry Corrales believes his experience earned him the KO win over Aaron Pico at Bellator 214

Henry Corrales picked up a highlight reel knockout win over Aaron Pico in the co-main event of Bellator 214.

It was Corrales who was dropped by Pico first in their slugfest, but Corrales says the knockdown was similar to how the early part of his life played out.

“Yeah dude, this fight…I was just telling somebody backstage that it closely resembled my real life, I put myself in some actually shitty situations and I had to fight my way out of it. That’s excatly what he did, he dumped me…he put me on my ass a little bit. I didn’t see it dude, he’s super quick. He just dropped me, a little flash…a flash hit, but I felt good. I got up and threw a couple shot, circled out and recomposed myself and got after it. So I got a little pissed,” says Corrales to Fightful’s James Lynch during the Bellator 214 post-fight press conference.

Corrales is now in the midst of a five fight winning streak and his only three losses as a pro came to fighters who have either held or challenged for the Bellator MMA Featherweight Title.

There is no idea where Corrales would be right now without The MMA Lab and that’s something the fighter has known for awhile now.

“For sure dude, there’s been a lot to process since I joined the team out there. They changed my life, I’m living out there with Ben Henderson and all those guys. It’s just a high quality place, I would never try to excuse those losses, but there’s reasons behind them. I got my shit together now, I’m going on a run and I’m getting after it,” says Corrales.

One of the three losses the fighter has suffered during his professional MMA career came to Patricio Pitbull, who is the current Bellator Featherweight Champion.
