Ronda Rousey Describes Sasha Banks As An “Encyclopedia Of Wrestling”
Ronda Rousey with nothing but praise for Sasha Banks.
This upcoming Sunday’s WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view will feature the men’s and women’s Rumble matches, Finn Balor challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, a Cruiserweight Title match, Becky Lynch and Asuka competing for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and Sasha Banks versus Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Title. “The Baddest Woman On The Planet” has not been shy in expressing how excited she is to face “The Boss” one-on-one and during a recent Q&A that Ronda held over her personal YouTube page, she spoke about why she wants to face Sasha Banks.
Rousey heaped praise onto Banks and shared that she feels Sasha lives the sport of professional wrestling in a way that once Sasha leaves arenas, she goes home and watches more wrestling until she steps back into a ring.
“I don’t think it’s so much Sasha’s style as everything that she brings to the match. I mean I love her wrestling style and I think it’s really, really unique and really distinct, and her personality comes out in how she fights, which I think that’s like… when you fight people it’s like having a conversation, and she’s got a very wide vocabulary — like she has a lot of different moves [and] she makes up new stuff all the time but it’s not just spots and stuff like that but… she just has so much intelligence in the ring. Like she’s a real fanatic of wrestling. Like an encyclopedia. I imagine… not that I f*cking imagine what she does during her free time but I was saying, I’m pretty sure the second that she leaves actually wrestling, she just goes home and watches wrestling non-stop until she goes wrestling again.” Ronda shared. “You know what I mean? Like that’s kind of what I picked up when I picture what she does with her free time. Don’t you [camera woman] kind of get that vibe? That she’s just 100% obsessed with it, and so it’s just like, I understand having an obsessive personality about things, A, so I like her, and B, I just feel like of all the women’s wrestlers right now she’s knowledgeable in not just history but, she’s such a fanatic on how matches work and how [to] put them together and I don’t know, it’s like a weird… she’s a savant in a way that doesn’t take away from everything else. She’s just really f*cking awesome at this one thing.”
Sasha Banks recently joined E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness and stated that she is the best women’s wrestler on the WWE roster and is better than half the men on the roster as well and to read Fightful’s published article about those comments, click here.
