Report: Bellator MMA Signs Domingos Barros
Domingos Barros made his Bellator MMA debut earlier this month at Bellator 211, defeating Hesdy Gerges by first round TKO, now he’s with the company full time.
The win was a big one for Barros because it has netted him a multi-fight contract from Bellator MMA according to MMA Junkie. Barros is the second fighter from the Bellator 211 event to get a contract, as Kent Kauppinen, who headlined the card, also signed a deal with the promotion. Although the report does say that Barros has signed a deal with the promotion, it does not specify any financial numbers or the length of the contract.
Barros is currently 6-0-0 as a professional MMA fighter, with four of those six wins coming by way of KO/TKO. Outside of competing in Bellator MMA, a newly signed Barros also competed in such promotions as Invictus Pro MMA League and Porto Fight Club.
There is currently no champion in the heavyweight division, which is the weight class that Barros will compete at, but one will get crowned at Bellator 214 as Ryan Bader faces Fedor Emelianenko in the Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix Finals. There is no word yet as to when Barros will compete again in Bellator MMA or whom that opponent is going to be.
