Report: Cody Rhodes And The Young Bucks Turned Down Seven-Figure Contract Offers From WWE
Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks had giant contract offers on the table from WWE, but plan on “changing the world” instead.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Cody and the Bucks turned down “multi-year deals for more than seven figures annually” from WWE. Hangman Page also received a contract offer from WWE, but it wasn’t on the level of the offers given to Cody and the Bucks. Page also declined their offer.
On the latest episode of Being The Elite, fans saw the Matt and Nick Jackson decline a contract offer from “H” (a Triple H character played by Frankie Kazarian). The scene, which included the Bucks hitting a double superkick on “H” after wishing him well in his future endeavors, eluded to the duo turning down a real life offer from WWE.
Being The Elite ended with the group walking away from ROH and Matt Jackson saying, “Let’s go change the world.”
The Elite finished up their final dates with ROH this past weekend. They are scheduled to work NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 event on Jan. 4. It’s heavily rumored that the group will start up their own wrestling promotion called All Elite Wrestling. Trademarks were filed on the promotion name and possible television and event names. The group is expected to announce their next move on an upcoming episode of Being The Elite.
