Report: Markus Perez Faces Anthony Hernandez At UFC Fight Night Fortaleza
A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Fortaleza according to MMA Junkie as Markus Perez is going to be in action against Anthony Hernandez.
This bout was originally scheduled for UFC 233, but was moved to this card after the event was scratched.
Perez (10-2-0) has won just one of three under the UFC banner, with that lone victory coming over James Bochnovich via first round submission at UFC 224. Perez has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of those defeats came in UFC competition. Perez is also a former Thunder Fight Middleweight Champion, defeating Paulo Thiago by unanimous decision to win the gold at Thunder Fight 7 in June of 2016.
Hernandez (7-0-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on an undefeated streak that has lasted over four years. Hernandez also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 10, defeating Jordan Wright by first round knockout. Hernandez is a former Legacy Fighting Alliance Middleweight Champion, defeating Brendan Allen by unanimous decision at LFA 32.
UFC Fight Night Fortaleza is taking place on Saturday, February 2 from the Olympic Training Center in Fortaleza, Brazil with Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
