Report: Rick Glenn Replaces Gilbert Melendez At The TUF 28 Finale
Gilbert Melendez has suffered an injury and has been pulled from the UFC Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale according to the UFC Europe Twitter account, replacing him against Arnold Allen is going to be Rick Glenn.
Allen (13-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Alan Omer, Yaotzin Meza, Makwan Amirkhani and Mads Burnell. Allen hasn’t suffered a defeat in over four years, with that last loss coming to Marcin Wrzosek at Cage Warriors 69. Allen is also competing on a UFC pay-per-view card for the first time during his UFC tenure, which has lasted over three years.
Glenn (21-5-1) has won three of five during his UFC tenure, with those victories coming over the trio of Phillipe Nover, Gavin Tucker and Dennis Bermudez. Glenn is a former World Series Of Fighting Featherweight Champion, defeating Georgi Karakhanyan to win the gold at the WSOF 10. Glenn has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter, but none of those defeats have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale takes place on Friday, November 30 from the The Palms At The Pearl Concert Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada with Kamaru Usman and Rafael Dos Anjos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
