Report: John Salter Replaces Melvin Manhoef In Bellator 210 Main Event
Melvin Manhoef has suffered an injury and has been pulled from Bellator 210 according to Bellator MMA’s President Scott Coker, replacing him in the shows main event against Chidi Njokuani is going to be John Salter.
Njokuani (18-5-0-1NC) has won five of six in Bellator MMA competition, with notable wins coming over Ricky Rainey, Melvin Guillard and Hisaki Kato. Njokuani is winless thus far in Bellator MMA main event fights, having dropped a headlining bout to Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 182. Njokuani is a former Tachi Palace Fights and Resurrection Fighting Alliance Welterweight Champion, but relinquished both titles upon signing with Bellator MMA.
Salter (15-4-0) has won five of six fights under the Bellator MMA banner, with notable wins coming over UFC veterans Kendall Grove and Dustin Jacoby. Salter has competed nineteen times as a professional MMA fighter and none of his bouts have gone the distance. Salter also won just one of three fights during his time with the UFC, with that lone victory coming over Jason MacDonald at UFC 113.
Bellator 210 takes place on Friday, November 30 from the Winstar World Casino & Resort in Tahckerville, Oklahoma with John Salter and Chidi Njokuani headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
