Jaron Ennis To Headline ShoBox Card On November 16
Jaron Ennis is ready to return to Philadelphia in his quest to become a contender in boxing’s welterweight division.
Ennis will fight Raymond Serrano in a 10-round bout in the main event of a ShoBox: The New Generation card on November 16 from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
The 21-year-old Ennis has been very active since making his pro debut in 2016, winning all 21 of his fights. Ennis is fighting for the fifth time this year and won the WBC USNBC Silver welterweight title in his last fight, which was televised on Showtime back in July. Serrano will be fighting for the third time this year, but the first two fights was a loss back in March and then a fight in June ended in a no contest.
The fight headlines a tripleheader on Showtime that features two other fights with highly-touted prospects competing. In a junior welterweight bout, once-beaten fighter Kenneth Sims Jr. will fight Samuel Teah in Teah’s second straight fight at the 2300 Arena. After winning his first 12 fights, Sims currently has a 1-1-1 record which includes fights against Montana Love and Rolando Chinea.
The other fight rounding out the tripleheader is a super bantamweight fight between Arnold Khegai and Jorge Diaz. Khegai, undefeated with a 13-0-1 record, has fought primarily in Russia, but will be coming to the United States for a fight for the second time in his career. Diaz’s career has been inconsistent as far as in-ring results as he has a 4-5-1 record in his last 10 fights. Diaz did, however, win the vacant WBC FECARBOX super bantamweight title last year with a win over Adam Lopez.
