Road Warrior Animal Announces Return Of Crockett Cup Tag Team Tournament At NWA’s 70th Anniversary Show
Some huge news from Road Warrior Animal.
Tonight at NWA’s 70th Anniversary Show in Nashville, Road Warrior Animal stood behind Crimson and Jax Dane as they issued an open challenge to any team that wanted to challenge them. It was soon revealed via video on the NWA YouTube channel that answering that challenge was going to be Jocephus. When the time came for the match to happen, Jocephus arrived with two women and claimed that the two women were going to be the ones to lay waste to Crimson and Dane.
Coming from behind to truly answer the open challenge was former WCW Hardcore Champion Shannon Moore and former IMPACT World Tag Team Champion Crazzy Steve.
Crimson and Dane picked up the victory despite the surprise attack from their opponents and once the match was over, WWE Hall Of Famer Road Warrior Animal who was being interviewed by Jim Cornette in the ring stated that in 2019 the National Wrestling Alliance will be returning the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament.
The last time that the Jim Crockett Cup ran was in 1988 and the likes of The Road Warriors, Lex Luger and Sting, and Dusty Rhodes and Nikita Koloff were winners of the legendary tournament.
NWA’s 70th Anniversary Show is coming to an end so head over to the “podcasts” section of the site as Fightful goes live immediately after the show ends for a review of the event.
