Booker T: “If WWE Asked Me To Come Back And Do A Match, I’d Do It In A Heartbeat”
The Book man is ready!
WWE Hall Of Famer and five-time WCW World Champion Booker T is currently at the age of 53-years old but is ready to step back into the ring and go if he’s needed. The Book-man has made a number of on-screen appearances for WWE in 2018 since being switched out from behind the RAW commentary desk. Booker has shown that he can still execute the “spinnaroonie” like it’s 2003 and he also is prepared to step back into the ring like it is 2003 as well.
Booker T was recently profiled by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated and while going over a number of topics, the talk of Booker doing one more match came up and he did not shy away from it at all and stated that if WWE wanted him to come back and do one more match, he would jump at it in a heartbeat.
“I can tell you, if WWE asked me to come back and do a match, I’d do it in a heartbeat,” said Booker. “Preparation is the only luck I’ve ever had in my career, and if they asked, I’d be prepared.”
Booker T’s last match was in February of 2015 when he teamed up with his brother Stevie Ray at a ‘Reality Of Wrestling’ show which is the promotion ran by Booker T out of his home-state of Texas. Over the years Booker has had talents such as The Usos, Ember Moon, Matt Cross, Taya Valkyrie and others come through his promotion. Booker further spoke about ‘Reality Of Wrestling’ when elaborating on if he is ready to return to in-ring action.
“My thing has always been preparation,” said Booker. “When I was a performer on the roster as one of the guys on a weekly, full-time schedule, I was always prepared,” said Booker. “When the Television Title came my way in WCW, it was all because Rick Martel didn’t bring his boots, and then I heard, ‘Hey Book, we need you to step in and do this match.’ Then, when I stepped in the ring with Jeff Jarrett to win the Heavyweight Championship, it was my time, and I was prepared for it. So if WWE was to ask me to do a match today, I would be prepared for it. This is my life, this is what I do. I’m in a good place right now, my Reality Of Wrestling is going really well, my school is doing really well, my Heated Conversations radio show is doing really well, so I’m in a great place right now, but why not do it if you still can?”
Booker T was on commentary for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles match this past Tuesday on SmackDown 1000. ‘The Bar’ were crowned new Tag Team Champions but they received some surprising help from a multi-time WWE World Champion and to read more on that, click here.
