Report: Sijara Eubanks Faces Roxanne Modafferi At UFC 230
A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to the UFC 230 card according to Mark La Monica of Newsday as #4 Sijara Eubanks faces #7 Roxanne Modafferi.
Eubanks (3-2-0) is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having beaten Lauren Murphy by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Utica. Eubanks was originally supposed to fight Nicco Montano for the vacant UFC Women’s Flyweight Title in the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, but pulled out of the bout due to the effects of weight cutting. Eubanks has suffered two defeats as a professional MMA fighter, with both coming to UFC veterans Aspen Ladd and Katlyn Chookagian.
Modafferi (22-14-0) has won just one of two in her second run with the UFC and that lone win came over Barb Honchak at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale. Modafferi has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Nicco Montano at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale. Modafferi has also challenged for the Invicta FC Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Jennifer Maia at Invicta FC 19.
