Report: Ion Pascu Steps In At Bellator 207
Lorenz Larkin was in need of a new opponent for Bellator 207 after Erick Silva suffered an injury, but a report from Sherdog is stating that Ion Pascu will now fight Larkin on short notice in a welterweight grand prix alternate bout.
Larkin (19-7-0-1NC) has won just one of three under the Bellator MMA banner, with that lone victory coming over Fernando Gonzalez at Bellator 193. Larkin has previously challenged for the Bellator Welterweight Title, losing to then champion Douglas Lima at Bellator 180. Larkin also spent a total of three-plus years competing in the UFC, earning a record of 5-5-0 in the organization.
Pascu (18-8-0) is currently winless in Bellator MMA competition, dropping a bout to Ed Ruth at Bellator 196. Pascu has already defeated one UFC veteran in his professional MMA career, as Pascu defeated Jack Marshman by first round knockout at BAMMA 13. Pascu has suffered eight defeats as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of decision.
Bellator 207 takes place on Friday, October 12 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Ryan Bader and Matt Mitrione headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
