Bellator 206 Results: Rampage Jackson TKOs Wanderlei Silva, Douglas Lima Picks Up Tourney Win, Aaron Pico
Bellator’s DAZN debut for Bellator 206 saw somewhat of a cross roads on the roster.
The company’s Welterweight Grand Prix tournament got underway, with Douglas Lima taking on Andrey Koreshkov for the third time. Meanwhile, past-their-prime legends of MMA in Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei Silva locked horns for the fourth installment of their feud.
Douglas Lima rebounded from his Bellator Welterweight Championship loss by slowly breaking down Andrey Koreshkov over five rounds in order to move on in the tourney. The fight gave Lima the rubber match, and put the two at thirteen rounds against each other across all three bouts. Lima will take on the winner of Michael “Venom” Page vs. Paul Daley.
On the evening’s co-main event, over 100 fights worth of experience clashed as Rampage Jackson put away Wanderlei Silva to even up their series at two apiece with a second round TKO. Both fighters were noticeably past their prime and well above their classic weights of 185 and 205 pounds.
Elsewhere on the show, Bellator phenom Aaron Pico continued building his resume with a first round TKO win over former title challenger Leandro Higo. Since dropping his MMA debut last year, Pico has dominated his way to four straight wins.
