UFC Veteran Magnus Cedenblad Retires

After a decade plus run as a professional MMA fighter, six fight UFC veteran Magnus Cedenblad has announced his retirement from the sport.

It was through Instagram that Cedenblad made the announcement:

Here is a translation of what Cedenblad wrote, provided by Google Translate:

“Yesterday I wrote the hardest mail in my life. As everyone knows, I’ve been injured for a longer period of time. Kg does not see any light in the tunnel. Feel that I must now move on with my life and start a whole new chapter instead of sticking to a dream that fades more and more. But as said the hardest mail ever. Pull out the cord from your best friend. That is now dead. Running a tear when I write this but realize that is the only correct one. So thank you ufc for getting fightas in the world’s best organization and especially a huge thank you to mma you’ve been my best friend to my life mate for so many years (you’ll be left but in other ways). Thank you to all of you who have followed my trip. Wish I could have shown more. But that’s part of being athletes. I would never have been satisfied. But still so proud of myself. Thank you all to all.”

Cedenblad ends his professional MMA career with a final record of 14-5-0, with some notable wins coming over Jarred Hamman, Krzysztof Jotko, Scott Askham and Garreth McClellan. Cedenblad was last seen in action at UFC Fight Night 99, suffering a second round TKO loss to Jack Marshman.
