Report: Joseph Benavidez Faces Ray Borg At UFC Fight Night Denver

A flyweight division attraction is the latest bout added to the UFC Fight Night Denver card according to Damon Martin of MMA NYTT as #3 Joseph Benavidez faces #4 Ray Borg.

Benavidez (25-5-0) has won six of his last seven under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Tim Elliott, Dustin Ortiz, John Moraga, Ali Bagautinov, Zach Makovsky and Henry Cejudo. Benavidez has twice before challenged for the UFC Flyweight Title, losing both times to Demetrious Johnson at UFC 152 and UFC On Fox 9. Benavidez has seen his last six bouts go the distance and it has been over four years since the fighter got a finish.

Borg (11-3-0) is competing for the first time since losing a UFC Flyweight Title bout to then champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC 216. Borg has suffered a total of three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of those defeats came under the UFC banner. Borg also went undefeated as an amateur MMA fighter and all of those bouts took place in the King Of The Cage promotion.

UFC Fight Night Denver takes place on Saturday, November 10 from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado with Frankie Edgar and Chan Sung Jung headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
