Report: Pedro Munhoz Faces Brett Johns At UFC 227
A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 227 according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA as #10 Pedro Munhoz faces #14 Brett Johns.
Munhoz (13-5-0-1NC) has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over Russell Doane, Justin Scoggins, Damian Stasiak and Rob Font. Munhoz has suffered a total of three defeats as a professional MMA fighter and all of those losses came by way of decision. Munhoz is also a former Resurrection Fighting Alliance Bantamweight Champion, defeating UFC veteran Jeff Curran to win the gold in August 2013.
Johns (15-1-0) is looking to rebound from his first loss as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Aljamain Sterling at UFC Fight Night Atlantic City. Johns is a former Cage Warriors and Titan Fighting Championships Bantamweight Champion, defeating both Jordan Desborough and Anthony Gutierrez to claim both belts. Johns has picked up more than half of his professional MMA victories by way of decision, with the last decision win coming at UFC Fight Night Glasgow.
