Alan Jouban Says He’d Consider Giving WWE A Shot
Alan Jouban was scheduled for a big fight last month at UFC Fight Night 134 until an injury derailed his plans — and this interview and subsequent article from Fightful.com’s own James Lynch.
However, not all is lost, as James often talks to UFC fighters about their connection of lack thereof to pro wrestling. For the model Jouban, nobody has even bothered to ask him about a possible jump, ala Ronda Rousey.
“I’ve never been asked that question before, to be honest. I would consider it. Shit, why not? If you feel like the actual combat sports for you is done, and your body can’t take it. WWE impacts your body. You don’t have to worry so much about the concussions anymore and things like that, it’s about taking care of your body. If they would give me a call, I’d pick up the phone, but something I’ve never thought of,” Jouban told Lynch.
Jouban admitted to not following the WWE product since he was an adult, but spoke highly of Ronda Rousey.
“I used to watch growing up. Hulk Hogan, Jake the Snake, Ultimate Warrior days. I’ve never watched it as an adult. I follow (Ronda Rousey) on social media, but I don’t watch Monday Night Raw. I don’t see her compete, but I’m glad she’s doing well. She changed the game, and since she lost two straight fights, they threw her under the bus. The competition wasn’t elite and she was able to walk through opponents, but she was walking through opponents, taking arms home left and right,” said Jouban.
Alan Jouban (16-6) discusses his now canceled fight against Danny Roberts (15-3) that was planned for UFC Fight Night 134 on July 22.
