Su Yung Defending Knockouts Championship At Slammiversary

Su Yung will take on one of the most prolific wrestlers in the Knockouts Division.

Slammiversary has been scheduled for July 22nd and already has had some announcement like the main event Championship match and the return of Johnny Impact. During a press conference for Slammiversary on Monday, Impact Wrestling announced Su Yung will be wrestling Madison Rayne at Slammiversary XVI.

Yung recently won the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship in a Last Rites match from Allie at Under Pressure which is her first reign as a Champion while with Impact Wrestling. Yung has only been with the promotion this year but Rayne has been in the Knockouts Division for eight years and has five Championship reigns under her belt.

Rayne’s last time as Champion was in 2014 when she defeated Gail Kim and her longest reign was 188 days in 2010-2011. Like Yung, Rayne was victorious at Under Pressure as she defeated Tessa Blanchard.

Impact Wrestling would later tweet about this match on June 24th.

Fightful Wrestling will have live coverage of Slammiversary XVI and the promotion is often discussed on the Fightful Weekender podcast at FightfulSelect.com.
