Conor McGregor Earns Record-Setting Payday For UFC 202
Conor McGregor, to no one’s surprise, got paid at UFC 202 — paid a record number.
McGregor earned a disclosed $3 million dollars for his UFC 202 main event victory over rival Nate Diaz. Diaz himself earned $ 2 million, with neither man earning a win bonus. The $3 million disclosed total is a new record. The info was revealed by the Nevada Athletic Commission as UFC 202 started.
The previous record was set just last month when Brock Lesnar earned a disclosed $2.5 million payout for his UFC 200 win over Mark Hunt.
McGregor, Diaz and Lesnar will all earn much more than the disclosed pay, as they also earn money from pay-per-view revenue, fight night bonuses and the Reebok sponsorship.
Anthony “Rumble” Johnson ended up taking home $270,000 for winning his bout over Glover Teixeira, who earned $65,000. Donald Cerrone also landed $170,000, all before post-fight bonuses.
