Nia Jax Discusses ‘Total Divas’ And How The Show Has Made Her Relatable To Fans

Nia talks 'Total Divas' and how the show has helped her.

The current RAW Women's Champion Nia Jax has been the flag-bearer for anti-bullying for WWE over the past few months. Leading up to her WrestleMania bout with Alexa Bliss, Nia consistently stated that she will no longer deal with being bullied after having to deal with it for the majority of her life. Jax was featured on the latest season of the E! Network series 'Total Divas' which she claims has brought her out of her shell in some ways and made her relatable to fans.

PopCulture.com caught up with Nia and "The Irresistible Force" shared her thoughts on being featured on 'Total Divas' and what the show has done for her connection with the WWE Universe.

"[Total Divas] actually brought a lot more attention to my personality. When I first got up on the road, I was a big, bad monster, and I didn't say much, but I came in and I destroyed people, and I wrecked house. Nobody actually got to hear from me and hear my voice," she said."When I got to Total Divas, then I actually completely shocked the fans about who I was and what I was all about," she continued. "It actually helped a lot of people start to really relate to me and start to resonate with the character of Nia Jax. It's been a great experience, and it's been very helpful and rewarding for me."

In the embedded video above Nia Jax was preparing for a date along with Brie & Nikki Bella who were assisting her with finding clothes. There was a bit of trouble for Nia finding a specific type of clothing due to her being a plus-sized woman and she broke down in front of Nikki & Brie. Jax spoke on the moment and shared that she is aware that she is made fun of because of her size but the WWE has done a great job of making the statement that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

"My mom has always told me growing up that beauty does not come from the outside, it comes from within. Regardless of how pretty people think they are on the outside, if they open their mouth and their heart is not in the right place, they're not as good looking as they think they are," she said. "That's something that I've always had in the back of my mind, beauty comes from within." She continued: "Of course, I get made fun of for being bigger than all the other girls and not looking like everybody else, but what I would like for people to see and I think a message that mainstream media, and WWE's doing a great job of it with me and with other characters on the roster, but just showing that everybody's different. Beauty shouldn't be defined by one certain look. Beauty should be defined by who they are on the inside. Everybody looks different, not everybody was born the same."

The RAW Women's Champion also spoke on the experiences she's had where people of all ages have came up to her and thanked her for being an inspiration. To read the full interview with Nia Jax, click here.
