Report: Ashkan Mokhtarian Out, Ulka Sasaki In At UFC Fight Night Singapore
Ashkan Mokhtarian has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Singapore according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA, replacing him against Jenel Lausa is going to be Ulka Sasaki.
Lausa (7-4-0) enters the fight while riding a two bout losing streak, with those losses coming to Magomed Bibulatov and Eric Shelton. Lausa is also a former Pacific Xtreme Combat Flyweight Champion, defeating Crisanto Pitpitunge at PXC 51 to win the gold. Lausa has also suffered a total of four losses as a professional MMA fighter, with none of those defeats coming by KO/TKO.
Sasaki (20-5-2) has rotated wins and losses in his last five UFC appearances, with the last bout being a loss to Jussier Formiga at UFC Fight Night Japan. Sasaki has seen just one of his seven UFC bouts go the distance and that came against Wilson Reis at UFC 208. Sasaki has competed six times before on “Fight Night” cards, holding a record of 3-3-0 in those appearances.
UFC Fight Night Singapore takes place on Saturday, June 23 from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore with a Donald Cerrone and Leon Edwards headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
