Alberto El Patron “No Shows” The IMPACT Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground Event, El Patron Let Go From Impact Wrestling

Was this a part of the storyline? Or was this another El Patron stunt?

Last night's IMPACT Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground event in New Orleans was live on Twitch TV and reached a peak viewing audience of 16,000 in the stream. The main event of the show was supposed to feature a Impact Wrestling versus Lucha Underground tag team match where the current Impact World Champion Austin Aries was set to team up with his rival Alberto El Patron to take on Fenix & Pentagon Jr.

Prior to the match it was announced that the contest was being converted to a Triple-Threat involving Aries, Fenix, and Pentagon Jr. Pentagon Jr. walked away with the victory for Lucha Underground. There was a bit of backlash from wrestling fans via social media as Alberto El Patron was believed to have no showed the event. El Patron was present at the press conference that took place two hours before the show began. Alberto El Patron is set to challenge Austin Aries for the Impact World Championship at their 'Redemption' PPV on April 22nd and the two competitors got into an exchange at the press conference and Aries laid it in verbally to "Mexico's Greatest Export".
