Here's your Fight Size wrestling Update for the morning of April 1st, 2018.
– Former NXT Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn have continued their hijacking of SmackDown house shows. The duo does have a match in seven days against the team of Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 34, but they are still presenting their former bosses with issues as they interrupted a match during a live event in Huntington, West Virginia.
– Former 3-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Big Van Vader underwent open heart surgery recently. The grizzled veteran shared another update via Twitter where he made it clear that he is still hurting, but is thankful to be alive.
– The top 1% of NXT is ready to make his statement certified as he looks to become the first-ever NXT North American Champion at TakeOver: New Orleans next Saturday night.
– "Big Match John" has yet to receive an answer to his WrestleMania challenge to The Undertaker. There are only seven days left until the "Show Of Shows" and John Cena continues to tease that if he does not have a match on the card, he will be heading into the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as a fan.
– Former WWE talent Rosa Mendes was recently a guest on the Pancakes and Powerslams podcast. During the interview she discussed why she has decided to make her way back in to the pro wrestling industry after retiring in 2017.
– A video has made the rounds on social media which featured a pro wrestler by the name of Devin Danger spitting gum at a young lady in the audience. After Danger spit the gum at the young audience goer, her father immediately charged at Devin Danger from behind and began to throw punches. Experienced pro wrestling creative writer Gabe Sapolsky noted that he would like to offer the young lady and her father free tickets to an EVOLVE show for what they had to deal with.
