Report: Tai Tuivasa Signs New Contract With UFC
Tai Tuivasa has already earned two vicious knockout wins in the UFC and fans will have a chance to see him bring some more violence to the Octagon because MMA Fighting is reporting that the fighter has signed a new four fight deal with the promotion.
While the contract is reportedly for a total of four fights, no financial numbers have been revealed at this time.
Tuivasa is set to return to action in just a few months at UFC 225, where the newly signed fighter is taking on former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski. The fight with Arlovski will serve as the first for Tuivasa under the new deal, as the new deal replaces the previous contract he had with the promotion.
In his brief run with the UFC, a dominant Tuivasa has picked up victories over the duo of Rashad Coulter and Cyril Asker. Prior to signing his first contract with the UFC last year, an undefeated Tuivasa defeated UFC veteran James McSweeney by first round TKO at Australian Fighting Championships 17.
UFC 225 takes place on Saturday, June 9 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
