Report: Henry Briones Battles Frankie Saenz At UFC Fight Night Chile

A pair of bantamweights are set to clash later this year at UFC Fight Night Chile according to Nolan King of MMA Kings as Henry Briones faces Frankie Saenz.

Briones (16-7-1) enters the bout on a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t earned a victory in over three years. Briones has earned just a single victory under the UFC banner and that came against Guido Cannetti at UFC 180. Briones also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter Latin America 1, losing in the quarterfinals of the reality show to Marlon Vera.

Saenz (12-5-0) has won just one of his last five under the UFC banner, with that victory coming over Merab Dvalishvili at UFC Fight Night Fresno. Saenz has seen all but one of his bouts in the UFC go the distance, with the lone finish being a loss to Eddie Wineland at UFC On Fox 20. Saenz is also a former King Of The Cage Bantamweight Champion, defeating Marvin Blumer at KOTC: Radar Lock to win the gold.

UFC Fight Night Chile takes place on Saturday, May 19 from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
