Rich Swann Says That He Will Be Retiring From Pro Wrestling After The Remainder Of His Booking Dates Are Completed

"The Outlandish" one claims to be stepping away from the sport.

Rich Swann had a rocky end to his 2017 as he would be arrested and faced with domestic violence charges for allegedly putting his hands on his wife, pro wrestler Su Yung. On December 10th after Swann was arrested, WWE announced that they would be suspending the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion indefinitely due to their zero tolerance policy. In January, Swann was cleared of all charges regarding the alleged domestic violence incident. According to the court documents, prosecutors determined that there was a lack of evidence to continue the case which allowed for the charges to be dropped.

Once the charges were dismissed, the lawyer who represented Rich Swann during the case released the following statement, hopeful that the dismissal of the charges would allow for Swann to return to WWE.

"We are very pleased with the resolution of these charges. We would like to thank the State Attorney’s Office for conducting a thorough investigation, as well as Mr. Swann’s family, friends, and fans that supported him through this. During our representation of Mr. Swann, we have come to know him as a kind and humble young man, who we believe has a bright future ahead of him. We are hopeful that with the dismissal of these charges Mr. Swann will be able to return to the WWE and our firm will do everything we can to assist him in returning to the ring. Thank you.”

A return to the company would not be in the cards as on February 15th, WWE announced that they had come to an agreement with Swann to mutually part ways.

It would not take long for the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion to get booked on shows, as he will be appearing for the CRASH promotion on March 17th and has also been scheduled for Tommy Dreamer's 'House Of Hardcore' show during WrestleMania weekend. Things appeared to shaping up for Swann in his post-WWE career, but he recently shared on Twitter that after his upcoming dates are fulfilled, he will be stepping away from the sport of pro wrestling.
