Mizuki Inoue Replaces Janaisa Morandin At Invicta FC 28
Janaisa Morandin is suffering from a second wisdom tooth infection and has been pulled from a bout with Virna Jandiroba for the vacant strawweight title at Invicta FC 28. Replacing Morandin at the event and fighting for the title is going to be Mizuki Inoue, who was originally set to fight UFC veteran Milana Dufieva at the same event.
Dudieva is expected to remain on the card against an opponent to be announced.
Jandiroba (12-0-0) has only competed once thus far under the Invicta FC banner, defeating Amy Montenegro at at Invicta FC 26. Jandiroba has finished all but two of her opponents by submission, while those other two wins came by way of decision. Jandiroba also defeated two UFC veterans prior to signing with Invicta FC, with those UFC vet’s being Ericka Almeida and Lisa Ellis.
Inoue (12-4-0) enters the contest on a four fight winning streak, last defeating Lynn Alvarez by second round submission at Invicta FC 18. Inoue hasn’t competed in almost two years because her bout at Invicta FC 18 took place in July of 2016. Inoue has suffered a total of four defeats as a professional MMA fighter, with two of them coming to a pair of UFC veterans in Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Alexa Grasso.
Invicta Fighting Championships 28 takes place on Saturday, March 24 from the Union Event Center in Salt Lake City, Utah with Virna Jandiroba and Mizuki Inoue headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
